Salary: $110,115 – $126,663
Position Summary:
The Idaho Springs Police Department is seeking candidates for the patrol sergeant position. We value leadership competencies such as integrity/credibility, ethical decision-making, coaching/mentoring, strong communication skills, accountability, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, team-building, and leading by example.
Requirements:
• Current sworn police officer/supervisor in good standing
• POST certification (or equivalent state certification)
• 5 years of full-time law enforcement experience
• Successful completion of the promotional process
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
• Colorado Driver’s License (or obtained when hired)
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage critical incidents
Preferred Requirements:
• Prior law enforcement supervisory experience
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field
• Instructor certifications
• Advanced POST or supervisory/leadership training
• Field Training Officer (FTO) experience
