Position Summary:

The Sergeant Bluff Police Department is seeking interested candidates to interview and place on a pre-approval list to hire. Sergeant Bluff is a community of 5,015 people (2020 Census) with a 9 officer police department which includes a Chief, Assistant Chief, and a full-time School Resource Officer.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent / AA or BA in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
At least 20 years of age
Valid driver’s license
Not addicted to drugs or alcohol
Good moral character
Must successfully pass physical agility testing adopted by I.L.E.A.
Pass P.O.S.T. (Police officers selection Test) written test
Pass background check
Pass Oral interview exam
Meet all other minimum standards required by I.L.E.A. rules
Must have uncorrected vision of not less than 20-100 in both eyes and corrected to 20-20
Must pass color vision testing
Must have normal hearing
Meet all other medical minimum standards required by I.L.E.A. rules
