Salary: $21.50 per hour ($44,720 annually)
Position Summary:
Police Officer’s with the City of Monett serve as a community representatives to perform law enforcement duties within the City limits to include: addressing public concerns, ensuring safety by preventing criminal activity, interacting with social service agencies and enforcing State, and City laws and ordinances. Officers work 12-hourshifts with every other weekend off.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a wide variety of uniformed law enforcement duties for the City of Monett. Patrols City, responds to calls, enforces traffic laws and ordinances, books prisoners, completes accurate and timely reports, appears in court to present evidence or sworn testimony, contributes to the
efficiency of assigned shift and the department, as well as other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age, and a U.S. Citizen, with no felony convictions.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Accredited college coursework in law enforcement or related discipline is preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Priorlaw enforcement experience preferred, but not required. Military service is preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license and Missouri POST certification for Peace Officer or possession of POST certification from another state and eligibility to obtain Missouri POST certification prior to employment.
