Salary: $21.00 per hour.
Position Summary:
As a Police Cadet with the City of Novi, you will assist with various tasks to support the police department’s operations. Your responsibilities may include attending and assisting with community events, conducting traffic control, performing administrative duties, and observing police procedures. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced officers and gain practical knowledge of law enforcement practices. This role will require strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently. Your dedication and willingness to learn will be crucial as you navigate day-to-day tasks within the police department.
Essential Functions:
- Responsibilities include providing customer service to those who visit the police department
- Taking non-criminal reports made at the police department
- Detention facility duties and administrative duties such as administering preliminary breath tests
- Vehicle releases and citation sign-offs.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- No less than 15 college credit hours in any field of study, preferably Criminal Justice
