Position Summary:
The City of Johnson City invites you to apply to start your career as a Johnson City Police Officer. The Johnson City Police Department, located in the 8th largest city in Tennessee, is home to approximately 180 sworn and civilian employees who are dedicated to protecting the community. Anyone interested in working for the City of Johnson City Police Department, must meet the minimum requirements for the position and pass the testing process. The information provided will remain on file for a period of one year.
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- Be a high school graduate or have GED equivalent
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Meet standards set forth by the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission and adopted by the Tennessee General Assembly on June 4, 1983, T.C.A. 38-8-106.
- Not have been convicted of, or pleaded guilty to, or entered a plea of nolo contendre to a felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws, or any city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor, or controlled substances.
- If applicable, separated honorably (or under honorable conditions) from the Armed Services.
