Pay & Benefits

$27.76-$29.15/hour ($57,741-$60,632 annually)
$1.50/hour shift differential for hours worked after 6:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m.
96 hours of vacation in the first year

What You’ll Do

Patrol assigned areas and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls
Investigate crimes, collect evidence, make arrests, and prepare reports
Enforce traffic and criminal laws and maintain peace and order
Testify in court and work closely with community members and partner agencies
Use modern policing tools, including body-worn cameras, mobile data terminals, crime analysis tools, and real-time crime center resources

Minimum Qualifications

U.S. citizen
At least 21 years old by start date
High school diploma or GED
Valid Kansas driver’s license
Ability to obtain Kansas Police Officer certification within one year
No felony, domestic violence-related, or other serious misdemeanor convictions
No tobacco use on or off the job

Additional Information

No residency requirement for new Police Officers
Some specialized assignments may require residence within a 40-minute response time or within designated communities
Spanish or other multilingual ability is a plus
